Silvercord was formed in the autumn of 1999 by Michigan natives, Geoff Nostrant, Ken Ball and Joe Klowski at their collective Studios. Inspired by the music of such bands as Velour 100, Slowdive, the Cure, Dead Can Dance, Black Tape For a Blue Girl, Steve Roach and the Autumns, Silvercord dares to deviate from pop music culture to cross into the mind set of listeners who wish to make an aural expericence their own.

Silvercord's debut album hosts members from all walks of life, some of which include an opera major, a concert pianst and popular Detroit electronic artists that are part of the motor city's electronic music hub. The second Silvercord release, Bioluminescence is more of a thorough dark ambient/ethereal experience. The third release, A Symphony of Sighs, is a series of long ethereal drones for meditation, relaxation and inner spiritual journeys. Silvercord's fourth release is Lullaby, a collaboration with Mike Carss' ambient project " Altus," which dares to sing the listener to sleep and take them on a journey to the shores of dreams.

Along with the four independent releases, Silvercord's single "My Bride of Night" was showcased on the Detroit Electronic Coalition's 2001 release: D[elEcTROnIc]t2 and the single "Take-Hannibal remix" is featured on the Detroit Electronica Coalition's 2004 release: D[elEcTROnIc]t3. Geoff also released, in Korea where he currently resides, a series of singles under the name Jung Hyun-June. In addition, Silvercord has released many remixes and side projects and is currently hard at work on even more.
